Got new glasses yesterday. The prescription in the left eye is a lot stronger and I can't see very well with that eye yet. I'll give it a week.

New prescriptions are always hard on me, too. My sympathies!

What a handsome guy. I see what you meant about the frames--it's still a good look for you.

Hi David,

I like the frames too. They really suit you.

Are the problems with the left eye your "up close" vision or possibly your astigmatism? With distance, I can always see well right away with new glasses, but I have problems with the other two issues for about a week.

I like 'em... hope the left lens issue sorts itself out soon.

I remember 20+ years ago getting a significantly strong prescription but not being able to afford high-index lenses at the time The odd warping effect in my peripheral vision drove me nuts for two weeks.

I used to give 'em a week, but in most of the new prescription glasses I've gotten since the late 90's, one or the other lens had either an obvious flaw or was completely w0rng in some way. I've returned to the shop the next day, let them look at the lens, measure the prescription, and ask for a _correct_ replacement.

Hope things are better now with the new glasses. Since I had laser surgery, all my new glasses come from the drug store: not as near as interesting frame choices, but they are darn cheap!
