Talk at Library of Congress tomorrow (Thursday)

As I believe I mentioned earlier, I will be giving a talk at the
Library of Congress in Washington, DC. My topic is "How the Future
Predicts Science Fiction" and the event is free and open to the
public. I'll also be signing and selling copies of Space
Magic. Tell all your DC-area friends!

For a casual name-dropping reference, "I'll be giving a talk at the Library of Congress tomorrow" is pretty high up on the list of extremely cool things to be able to say. Frankly, it beats, "It's an honor just to be nominated," which is also an extremely cool thing to say.

The coolest thing to be able to say is, "Your Majesty and members of the academy, thank you very much". If you reach the point of needing to learn Swedish for that purpose, I will probably no longer be able to hang out with you.

It went well! There were about 20 people in attendance, most of them square dancers (friends of mine who were in DC for the square dance convention, as I was). The talk was well received, everyone laughed in the right places, and I sold all the books I brought. Unfortunately, the recording I tried to make of the talk did not come out (which is a real shame, because the bits that did come out sound great).
