Writing update

Not much to blog about recently. Mostly I've been plugging away on the YA novel. I just passed 50,000 words, with a target of 70,000, so I should be done with the first draft by the end of the quarter, as scheduled. I'm not entirely happy with it, but I hope I will be able to fix the problems I see myself putting in when I revise it.

While I'm chugging away here, my previously published stuff is making good progress:

• "Written on the Wind", my fourth published story, has been given a fine audio version, read by Mur Lafferty, at Escape Pod. You can also read the full text of the story at the Escape Pod website, and there's a lively discussion of the story on the podcast's message board.
• I recently learned that the Italian translation of Wild Cards 1 is of the new edition, so it does include my story "Powers". I don't yet know what the title of the translated story is.
• My story "Pupa" from the October 2010 Analog made the Locus Recommended Reading List!
