Cheap dependable Mac laser printer?

davidlevineAll knowledge is contained in LJ. Can anyone recommend a cheap (by which I mean low cost per page) dependable black and white laser printer for the Mac? I have a lot of manuscripts to print and my trusty inkjet printer is slurping down the ink like beer on the day before Prohibition.
Uncle Mark recommends the HP Laserjet 1020, but from what I see online it's rather a hassle to get the Mac drivers, as it's not officially supported.

Date: 2008-03-11 05:48 pm (UTC)I have the 1022 (obviously related to the 1020), and no problems here at all. It has been a terrific workhorse, handling all my and my husband's mss, and three years running I've had to print reams and reams of Clarion West applications and it has done it with no complaints.
I seriously love my printer. No problem with drivers, but then it is a different model.
