I did, but I'm wondering how effective that will be. There are so many other incandescent bulb uses other than just in general home lighting...types that aren't compatible at all with current fixtures.
Many type of incandescent bulbs in specialized applications, including 3-way bulbs, are exempt. OTOH, some current building codes already mandate efficient lighting in new installations (and people are spending money to bypass those codes, too).
One one of our local neighborhood mailing lists, someone was complaining about their electric bill and rates. When asked about CFL's, they immediately started making excuses as to why they didn't use them.

Date: 2008-03-27 05:49 pm (UTC)I've retroed about 60% of our household lighting to the CFLs. The rest are on dimmers or are specialized lighting (like the bathroom bulbs).
We'll all get used to it soon enough.
