The Square Dance On Ganymede will be in Tower Court D on Thursday evening from 8:30pm to 11:30 pm. We have an excellent local caller, Chris Kermiet, and live music.Who knows if SF fans will show up at all, but there you have it. It will almost certainly be a "first-nighter," possibly with some SF-related lyrics thrown in. It might also be traditional rather than modern western squares. I'm planning to go anyway!

Date: 2008-07-29 11:55 pm (UTC)There he gave a pretty good speech, extolling the virtues of SF readers, peering into the future, and recommending a bunch of books to read.
Connie Willis will be reading this speech on Wednesday the 6th.
I will be giving my talk on Heinlein and space suits. Or corner me at a party for the short version, sans Powerpoint.
Neither K nor I have done any square dancing in years. I wonder whether I could persuade her to attend this. Before she met me, she dated a caller.
Anyway, this will probably not be the strangest square dance you have attended.
