Instructions:
1) Take a screencap of your desktop.
2) To cap a desktop:
For PC: Press "Print Screen" (prt sc) button.
For Macs: Shift+Apple+3.
3) Open your graphics program-o-choice.
4) Press CTRL + V or go to "edit & paste.
5) Save image as a JPEG.
6) Upload the screen cap to your image server.
7) Post your cap in YOUR LJ along with these instructions.




As you can see, I don't like a cluttered desktop. I took the background photo on my last trip to Ringworld St. Louis.

Didn't know if my PrtScrn button would do anything in SUSE Linux, but know that there's a little utility to do the same. Then checked out The GIMP (image editing software) and found it's got a utility built into it: File | Acquire | Screen Shot. I've gotta check this program out further. Thanks for the nudge!

I liked that meme, but at work got lost down a rathole (apparently a multiple-clipboard utility from an old version of WordPerfect; never did find a suitable graphics program either, and not supposed to download stuff). I always wondered what "Print Screen" did, and now I have a clue. My desktops at home (2 mac & one XP) are all too messy to share.
