Stranded

Visiting Kate's parents' house, with her brother Bill, sister Sue (vopracticality), and Sue's kids Isobel and Alex. Having a good time playing silly games and working jigsaw puzzles with the kids. Got a bunch of writing done this afternoon, while Kate and her relatives sorted through some boxes of stuff. But around dinner time we discovered a quarter-inch of black ice on the roads (and getting thicker). That put the kibosh on our planned dinner expedition., and we're not even going to attempt the mile to our hotel tonight. I don't know when we're going to be able to head home.

I hope we don't have to eat the dogs...
