Stamp conversions for new postage rates
As you may be aware (I wasn't!), US postage rates are going up on January 8, to 39¢ for the first ounce and 24¢ for each subsequent ounce. If you have a lot of stamps for the old rates lying around (I do!), you might find the following conversion table handy.
| Ounces | Postage | 37¢ | 23¢ | 1ยข |
| 1 | $0.39 | 1 | 0 | 2 |
| 2 | $0.63 | 1 | 1 | 3 |
| 3 | $0.87 | 1 | 2 | 4 |
| 4 | $1.11 | 3 | 0 | 0 |
| 5 | $1.35 | 3 | 1 | 1 |
| 6 | $1.59 | 3 | 2 | 2 |
| 7 | $1.83 | 3 | 3 | 3 |
| 8 | $2.07 | 3 | 4 | 4 |
| 9 | $2.31 | 5 | 2 | 0 |
| 10 | $2.55 | 5 | 3 | 1 |

I guess we're all too stunned with the up and down price of gasoline to really care anymore.
