OryCon's room block is filling up fast. If you are planning to attend and don't yet have a room, you should book now. Even more important, if you have a room and are not planning to attend, you should contact Patty Wells (email "orycon25chair at comcast dot net") to reallocate your room to a convention member.

Also, if you are planning to attend OryCon and don't yet have a membership, it would be very helpful to the convention if you would pre-register. The pre-registration deadline is October 22 and you can get your memberships online at http://www.orycon.org/orycon28/registration.

We called yesterday and the block was sold out. But they sold us a room at the higher rate. So instead of $99, it's $149.

Meanwhile I found on the POVA (Portland Oregon Visitors Assn.) site a special called the Portland Big Deal. See http://www.travelhero.com/eventhero/index.cfm. At the moment there appear to be rooms at $109 + tax.
