The above phrase was the top headline in this morning's Oregonian. If you aren't from Oregon or Washington, I'd be interested in your best guess as to what it might mean.
Biscuit Lands, OR, have decided to take proactive action to avoid the Indonesian volcano, and have headed for Logging, OR. Which is between Boring, OR, and Grass Pants, OR.
This is terrible news. Our biscuit trees are a natural resource necessary for breakfasts all over the northwest. Where are we going to get our buscuits from now?
(Being an Oregonian, I thought I'd jump in with an other worst answer.)
Wasn't there a huge fire up there a while back called the Biscuit Fire? I seem to remember that, because some of these fire names are so bizarre you wonder what the inspiration was. New Mexico forests are being burnt out from lightning fires lately, and the names would make a comedy in themselves. Although it's not particularly funny.
So... I went to http://www.oregonlive.com/ to see how the story really reads (http://www.oregonlive.com/news/oregonian/index.ssf?/base/news/1149908141100310.xml&coll=7). They popped up an annoying screen, asking for my zip code, year of birth, and gender. I put 20505 (the dedicated zip for CIA), 1897, and Female. They didn't think any 109-year-olds have access to teh intarwebs, and bounced the year. 1907 was OK, but 1897 strained their credulity.
Thing is, I bet there are 109-year-olds with net access, and what a pain it must be when no one believes them.
